25 July 2014

WELCOME BACK:

We give thanks for the blessings that marked our school holidays and ask the Lord’s continuing blessings on the new school term. A special welcome is extended to Mrs S. Moyo who replaces Mrs B. Williams as the Grade R teacher. We hope your stay with us will be a pleasant and rewarding one.

CONGRATULATIONS:

We extend our congratulations to the Resource Class Teacher’s Assistant, Mrs N. Samuels on the birth of her daughter. Mom and daughter are both doing well.

OMO COMPETITION:

South Africa is a water stressed country and our resources are under tremendous pressure with predications that the demand will outstrip supply by 2025. OMO is asking schools to pledge their commitment to Cap their Water Waste. All we have to do to win one of 100 JoJo rainwater collection tanks is to collect OMO or SKIP Liquid BOTTLE CAPS and send them to school with your child. The competition ends on 31 July 2014.

TREES 4 SCHOOLS:

We intend partnering with Trees 4 Schools to establish a garden at school using recyclable material. Pupils are requested to collect 2L cooldrink bottles WITH CAPS, rinsed and send them to school.

MATHEMATICS SESSIONS FOR PARENTS/GUARDIANS:

We will again offer these sessions for parents/guardians, but this time the phases will be split. We will cover the work the children need to know for term 3. We want to improve the Numeracy and Literacy results at our school and are preparing the pupils for the ANA’s that will be written in September and the Systemic tests that will be written in October.
